Followers of the band will have seen the band name and line up change over the past 7 years, From John Angus Blues Band to John Angus Band, down to fans saying you are more rock than blues, so we dropped the blues title and repositioned ourselves as simply John Angus Band. JAB for short sums up where we are at in our musical journey. When we launched our latest album "It's High Time" in 2024 we felt that we needed an injection of new high energy songs with a blues influence and that has done really well with chart success for three months in the IBBA Blues Charts, in at 8
Bands always evolve over time and for the past two years we have been settles with the line up but about a year ago our keys player Adam was offered the job of playing with The Amy Winehouse Experience playing hundreds of UK gigs and in to Europe so his time with us would be limited. We feel keys is an essential aspect of the band so we are delighted to have found a new player Terry Snowdon MBE, a cracking player with years of experience and a passion for JAB's music.
We have also decided to change our drummer Andy Hurley, who is a great player and personality. There's no way round it other to say that the band felt we needed to make a change and we are delighted to say we managed to get our original drummer who played on our first album Pete Hopkins to return to the fold. Pete was a shoe-in and fits the personality of the band going forward. We wish Andy success and we know that he has already established gigs with other bands, something he is well versed at.
